Canopy Growth Corp (TSE:WEED) (OTCMKTS:TWMJF) (FRA:11L1) announced today that had filed an application to list on the New York Stock Exchange, making it the first licensed producer of cannabis to do so in the world.
According to CEO Bruce Linton, “Since becoming the first regulated cannabis producer to list their shares in North America in 2014 our team has focused on building credibility through consistent execution. Once finalized, listing our shares on the NYSE will represent a continuation of our upward trajectory as we build the global cannabis industry.”
The company said it expects to achieve a listing under the symbol “CGC” by the end of May, but indicated that the successful application remains contingent upon satisfaction of all NYSE listing requirements and final approval.
